Kevin Barrett is Chief Executive Officer of Daybreak Information Technologies. Prior to Daybreak, Kevin was Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Elan Corporation plc for over 10 years where he led Elan’s Global IT strategy, policies, standards and operations.
He was responsible for the global implementation of SAP at Elan in addition to a broad array of systems and technologies in support of the drug development lifecycle.
In 2003, Kevin led the implementation of a Global IT management control system for Elan certified to ISO 9001, ISO 20000-1, ISO 27001 and ISO 38500. In April 2011, Kevin was named one of the Silicon Valley 50, the top 50 Irish or Irish-American executives making a significant impact in and around Silicon Valley within the field of technology. He received the Silicon Valley 50 award again in March 2012.
Kevin joined Elan in 1996 and held IT management positions of increasing responsibility at Elan locations in Ireland and the US. A systems analyst by training, Mr. Barrett held a number of senior technical and design positions at Wang Laboratories VARs in Ireland. A native of Ireland, he now resides in the Silicon Valley area .
John Hartnett is a senior technology executive & investor based in Silicon Valley, California and a native of Limerick, Ireland. He is founder & CEO of SVG Partners LLC, a Silicon Valley Investment & Advisory firm. He is also founder and president of the Irish Technology Leadership Group (ITLG), a network of global Irish technology leaders whose main focus is to foster the links between Ireland and Silicon Valley in the areas of Innovation, Investment, Education & Entrepreneurship.
Mr. Hartnett has over 25 years of executive level experience leading global sales, marketing, and operations. He held executive positions including CEO at G24 Innovations, a leading thin film solar company, Senior Vice President – Global Sales & Services of Global Markets at Palm, Inc., (Nasdaq: PALM), Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing & Operations at Metacreations, (Nasdaq: MCRE) to name a few.
Hartnett was recently appointed as independent non-executive director to the board of Aer Lingus. He also currently serves on the board of the University of Limerick Foundation and as Executive Chairman of Daybreak Information Technologies, Chairman of Sisaf Ltd and director of Mcor Technologies. He served on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s Northern Ireland Working Committee 2009 – 2011 and is currently leading the Global Diaspora innovation initiative with the US State Department. He is a member of the Irish Government’s Global Irish Network advisory group and the Global Irish Economic Forum.
Hartnett is a graduate of the Marketing Institute of Ireland and holds a post-graduate diploma in Finance from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He has completed the executive management program at Stanford University, Palo Alto, California.
Pat Pollard is Chief Business Officer at Daybreak Information Technologies. Pat has held several senior executive positions over 25 years in the technology management space across a range of industries including Biotech, Semiconductor, Telecom and Banking.
Pat joined Élan in 2002 and served as Vice President of Applications where he had responsibility for project delivery and global support for various research, development, commercial, legal and financial applications. Prior to joining Élan Pat worked at Eircell and factor-e with responsibility for strategic IT outsourcing of infrastructure and applications development. At Applied Magnetics and Westinghouse he held management responsibility in Ireland for business development, customer services and sales.
Pat started his career at United Technologies in product engineering as a software engineer developing automated test software for high-volume dynamic ram and microprocessor production testing.
Patrick Roberts is the Chief Technology and Chief Information Security Officer at Daybreak. Prior to Daybreak, Paddy spent 12 years at Elan Corporation plc where he was Elan’s Chief Information Security Officer and Head of IT Governance and Control Group. During his tenure at Elan, Paddy oversaw successful execution of all IT aspects of a large number of business transactions and also led the information and technology risk management activities.
Prior to joining Elan, Paddy held various executive positions. He ran one of Ireland’s largest information security teams at Enba / first-e, the Internet banking group where as Head of Risk Management for the bank he led technical risk, operational risk and fraud management.
Paddy was Head of Technology Risk Services of the Global Risk Management Solutions group at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He built the Technology Risk Group in Ireland and with this team led and worked on a large number of assignments across Europe for various multinational clients spanning industry verticals such as Pharmaceuticals, Finance, Insurance, Telecom and Technology.
Paddy was the founding president of the Irish chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) where he served as President from 2003 until late 2008.
Paddy graduated from Trinity College Dublin and holds a post-graduate diploma in Accounting & Finance from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
